Clarion Chukwura must have
been rattled recently during the filming of Femi Lasode’s Stolen Treasures. Sources who witnessed the incident say trouble started
after Clarion, who plays a major role in the movie complained about lighting
and obviously, Femi Lasode was not impressed.
“Is it your movie,” Femi
thundered back at her, “Is it your movie? If you don’t like it go and jump into
the lagoon,” Lasode screamed at the top of his voice. However, rather than
react, the actress had simply kept quiet and continued with her job.
Said a source that was on
the set: “Femi was very angry. You know producing a movie could be really
hectic and Femi is a perfectionist. Probably it was the pressure that triggered
his reaction. Rather than respond, Clarion had quietly gone back to her work
because she probably understands the stress of movie production; after all
she’s a professional.”
Stolen Treasures is a movie that attempts to draw attention and create awareness about
the need for foreign museums to return invaluable artifacts stolen from Africa
by colonial masters like the Benin Bronze Mask. It’s being executively produced
by arts impresario, Femi Lasode.
It stars the likes of Eddy
Ugboma, Angel Ufuoma, Gbenga Richards, Seyi Allen and Clarion Chukwura to
mention a few.
