SOUND SULTAN, SBS UNITE FOR ORPHANS

By Deji Aroloye
Musician, Sound Sultan, in partnership with Standard Bearers School (SBS), Lekki, held a novelty march last weekend at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos Island designed to create awareness about the plight of orphans at Stephen’s Children’s Home, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Speaking at the event, Sound Sultan said the reason why he always partners the school is because of its stand against violence and love for the less privileged.
Also speaking, the Propietress of SBS and Ambassador of Stephens Children Home, Modupe Oni urged well meaning Nigerians to support the orphanage by creating educational opportunities for the over 400 children, victims of the the Boko Haram insurgency in the north.
“We have this program me in our school called 'Ice breaker morning.' It is just to break the monotony of school education for the parents and the children to have fun. We crafted this and it is always centred around football.
"But this year, we have added our charity fundraising drive to the event. Our Charity is for Stephens Children Home. It is an orphanage that is home to over 480 children who are victims of Boko Haram crisis in the north.
"I am using this opportunity to create awareness for the home because it is not easy to look after 480 orphans. They need a lot of support and help. Some of them are now pursuing careers.”
