Fast rising UK based Gambian actress, Marie Kumba, has her eyes on Nollywood and can’t wait to star in her first movie in the world’s third largest movie tradition even as she wraps up plans to relocate to the country.

Past Came Calling and Hunting 4 Babies shared her excitement.

growing rapidly and I want to contribute my own quota to Africa’s biggest movie
tradition,” Kumba said.
At the age of
11, Kumba joined a charity youth group performing to raise funds for Gambia. Recounting
her early years Kumba continued: “We would put up shows where members of the
public would buy tickets and watch. From this I got voted to be the youth leader
of the group which meant more acting and commitment for me. “
In 2011 she
entered the Class Act Talent Hunt
held in England, won and landed the lead role in The Past Came Calling, her first movie ever and ever since she has
never looked back.
