A
new wind is blowing across the third largest movie making tradition, Nollywood.
And that new wind is none other than fast rising actress, Angel Ufuoma.
Described as beautiful,
intelligent, astute and focused, Angel is fast becoming a favourite of
Nollywood movie makers and has starred alongside Hollywood greats like Isaiah
Washington and Vivica A. Fox and Nollywood icons, Genevieve Nnaji and Stephanie
Okereke in the international blockbuster, Doctor Bello, produced and directed
by Tony Abulu.
"Angel
is a unique actor,” says Abulu, "her timing is impeccable and her work
ethic flawless. I see her rising fast not just in Nollywood but also in the US
where she is currently working."
Angel
studied Law and was called to the Bar in Nigeria. She also studied TV presenting
in New York City, USA and has modeled for magazines and worked as an Attorney
before Nollywood came calling.
Recently
Angel showed a different side to her talent when she hosting a major pilot, Nollywood Sings and wowed a
select audience of Nollywood greats such as Segun Arinze, Fred and Jeta Amata,
Kate Henshaw, Omoni Oboli, Toyin Aimaku, Joseph Benjamin and Charles Novia to
mention a few with her singing prowess. Angel has also hosted programs for American
television platform, Blaze Channel.
Presently employed at Black Ivory Communications, USA, her latest film project
is Superstar, billed as the biggest
music industry film in Nigeria aimed at introducing Nigerian contemporary music
to mainstream American audiences and Angel
has been cast in the lead role. The film
is set to feature top Nigerian musicians and will be shot in 2014.

Angel crooned: “For me, it seems the stars are just the beginning of my
aspirations. My dream is to help young
African women with my pet project in education, health and business. I’m so
excited, Nollywood, I’m here.”
