Beautiful actress, Angel Ufuoma, recently
arrived from New York City after landing the lead role in Tony Abulu's mega
blockbuster, Superstar. In a recent interview with tonyogagablog, Angel
expressed her happiness that all her hard work and training is finally paying
off. And guess what, the music industry based film is expected to parade some
of the best music acts in Nigeria including Iyanya, Tekno, May7seven, as well
as top comedians like Ay, Ushbebe and Pencil while Angel is expected to lead a
star studded Nollywood cast that boasts Rachel Oniga, Beverly Naya, Tina Amuziam,
Jide Kosoko, Hafeez Oyetoro and Toyin Aimakhu.
Meanwhile, Angel recently participated as a special guest at an audition for the search for a talented young Nigerian vocalist for Superstar. She was quite elated that Nigeria has a lot of talent to present, some of whom have been invited to participate in the movie. Superstar will be presented to mainstream US theatres, British theatres and distributed by Silverbird in Nigeria and Ghana.
tonyogagablog caught up with the producer and director of the film, Tony Abulu, at the auditions and when asked him why he selected Angel to be the star of the film Abulu said: "I have watched Angel develop in Nollywood and I have been quite impressed with her development especially since her training in New York. She is very versatile and her range is quite broad. I am tipping her as one of the top new superstars that will emerge in Nollywood."
Angel believes that her fans will see her in a wide range of personality traits in Superstar. She also believes the movie will afford her the unique opportunity to showcase her talent.
