penultimate week Sunday at Terra Culture,Victoria Island, Lagos, during the fifth edition of Best Model Nigeria, when Chukwuebuka Mesironye and Tarere
Obiagbo emerged Best Model
Nigeria 2015, after a keen contest which involved over 30 models.
One of the platforms
giving Best Model Nigeria a boost is the Italian Consulate in Nigeria. Commenting on
why the Consulate continues to support the platform, the Consular General of the Italian Consulate, Andrea Pompermaier said: “Where there is beauty, fashion and art,
there you will find Italy. Milan is one of the most important centres for
fashion in the world so it is a pleasure to be here today. We’re working
together to strengthen the relationship between the Nigerian fashion industry
and Milan.”
Commenting on his victory,
Mesironye said that he was overwhelmed: “I’m really excited that I won. I want
to thank the organisers for this opportunity. My dream is to take this platform
to a new level and touch lives.”
For Tarere Obiagbo: “I’m
so excited that I won. When you believe in something and you keep trying,
nothing can stop you. My greatest challenge was the fact that there were so
many experienced and pretty ladies in the house but I thank God that I won. My
dream is to be a mentor to younger girls. I already have a blog were I talk to
younger models.”
Commenting, Augustina
Okitiakpe, the CEO of Modelslink International, organisers of the contest
disclosed that Best Model Nigeria is designed to promote Nigerian youths both
male and female.
Best Model coming to Nigeria in 2016-Lola Alao
Meanwhile, actress and
movie producer, Lola Alao, who is also the brand ambassador of the platform disclosed that in 2016, Best Model Africa will berth in Nigeria.
“As I speak to you, plans
have reached advanced stages for the successful hosting of Best Model Africa in
Nigeria next year. I am so passionate about the youths and that is the reason I
am putting in so much effort to take the Best Model brand to the next level.
The idea is to empower youths. I will be leveraging on my brand to make sure
this dream comes true,” Lola said while addressing guests before the
winners were announced

Privilege working with Best Model Nigeria-Ken Bassey, CEO Dabinchi Entertainment
Meanwhile, commenting, Ken Bassey, CEO Dabinchi
Entertainment, an event management company, producers of Best Model Nigeria
described the experience of working with the platform as a privilege: “It’s
been a privilege working with the organisers of Best Model Nigeria. The
challenges we have had over the years are sponsors but we thank God for the
major support we got from the Italian Consulate this year. Among others the
winners have received an all expense paid trip to Italy which will include a
photo shoot and tour with one of the best phptographers in Milan. Our objective
is to be associated with international events such that we will be referred to
as dabinchi Global Entertainment.”
The Italian Consular General later hosted the entourage and winners to a dinner
at the Consulate located on Walter Carrington, Victoria Island, Lagos. Sponsors
include Aquarite Water, Afrodisia and Ouch! among others. The event was hosted
by popular comedian, MC Senator.
Meanwhile, recently in the
UK, two past winners of the contest, Stephaney Omogbaiye and Adedamola
Adebowale won Face of The world contest.
